Pittsfield Police investigate alleged homicide of Springfield man

PITTSFIELD, MA (NEWS10) – Pittsfield Police are investigating what seems to be a homicide of a Springfield man.

Around 1:30 Saturday morning, officers responded to a 911 call that reported an unresponsive male was near 129 Fenn Street. When officers arrived on the scene they saw a male, later identified as 30-year-old James Dominguez III, lying on the ground.

Police and first responders immediately started to give CPR. Dominguez was transported to Berkshire Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time after.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death of Dominguez will take place at the office of the chief Medical Examiner in Holyoke. The day and time of the autopsy has not yet been determined.

Police are asking anyone who may have information in connection with the death of Dominguez to call the Pittsfield Police at (413) 448-9700.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
