NEW YORK (AP) — Hudson River crossings including the George Washington Bridge and the Holland and Lincoln tunnels are closing to non-emergency vehicles as a huge snowstorm slams the region.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York and Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey announced that the bridges and tunnels will close as of 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The ban also includes the Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge and Outerbridge Crossing.
Only authorized emergency vehicles will be allowed until the crossings are considered safe to reopen.
Additionally, with bus service already suspended at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the facility itself is closing at 4 p.m.
