Gov. Christie returns home to New Jersey for blizzard

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY (NEWS10) — New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is leaving the campaign trail to return to New Jersey because of the blizzard.

Christie firing off a series of tweets Friday afternoon saying he was putting his role as governor first but promising to return to New Hampshire to campaign soon.

Christie is banking on a strong finish in the New Hampshire primary in two weeks to keep his 2016 presidential hopes alive.

The governor has been in the back of the pack in national polling but has shown signs of life in New Hampshire surveys and has scored some high profile endorsements there.
