Emergency services respond to water main break in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Office of Emergency manage was directed Sunday by Governor Cuomo to respond to the major water main break in Troy.

This is affecting many homes and business in the area alongside State Route 4 and other low lying areas.

Rensselaer County requested a 5,500 gallon water tanker from the state’s NY responds incident management system.

“At the direction of Governor Cuomo, the Office of Emergency Management will provide any resources to the City of Troy to assist with the response efforts due to the water main break to restore water the impacted area, ” said Kevin Wisely, Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services and director of the office Emergency Management.

City staff will report to the incident command post in Troy and are in constant communication with local stat officials.

The office of Emergency Management will monitor and assist with any additional needs from the impacted are.
