Lego Tournament at Amsterdam high school

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A big Lego competition is happening at Amsterdam High School.

There will be 18 teams from different regions including Albany, Ballston Spa, Clifton Park, Duanesburg and Broadalbin.

Students will get together to use Legos to build a robot that will know how to operate by itself once it is all finished.

Every year this tournament has a different theme and this year, it’s called “trash trek.”

What that means is that these students will not only have to build a robot but their robot will need to know how to perform several waste-management related tasks.

Talk about a tough challenge right there.

At the end of the tournament Saturday, we will get to find out who will make it to the championship tournament at Dutchess Community college on February 27th.
