ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Thursday morning the woman accused of killing 5-year-old Kenneth White will learn her fate inside an Albany court room.
Tiffany VanAlstyne pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder back in November and now faces 18 years to life in prison.
Two months ago she was in the courthouse confessing to killing White and On Wednesday she will be back here to learn her fate.
In December of 2014 a false amber alert was prompted by the then 19-year-old VanAlstyne.
VanAlstyne told police that masked men broke in and abducted White while she was babysitting him and his two sisters ages five and six.
The whole thing turned out to be a lie and a decoy.
White’s body was found about 100 yards from their Knox home off Thatcher Park road, buried in a snow bank.
VanAlstyne accepted a plea deal of 18 years to life.
According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple the case is not completely closed.
