Albany, Schenectady and Troy Housing Authority units now smoke free

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) —   The Albany and Troy Housing Authority will be going smoke free January 1.

This follows the move in Schenectady housing’s to provide smoke free facilities.

The new policy says smokers will have to be 25 feet away from the property in order to have a cigarette.

The housing authority units built four years ago share a common ventilation system and officials there hope the new rule will protect the health of those who do not want to be exposed to secondhand smoke.
