ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The father of Trevor Duffy which is the UAlbany student who died after an alcohol filled party at an off-campus, unsanctioned Zeta Beta Tau fraternity last year.
The father Stephen Duffy is now suing UAlbany. Duffy’s claim is that the university knew or should have known about the party where his son, Trevor had died.
Also, more should have been done to stop it.
Trevor Duffy died November 2014 after officials say he was forced to drink excessive amounts of alcohol in a hazing incident as he was trying to join the frat.
Multiple arrests have already been made in this case.
We reached out to UAlbany for comment, and Michael Parker the Director of Communications at UAlbany sent us a statement saying that they are saddened by the death of Trevor Duffy and they want to thank Albany Police in their efforts to bring justice to those who are responsible.
They also mentioned they could not comment on pending litigation.
