Man charged with handgun possession following traffic stop

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – 34-year-old Kvar Tillman of Albany has been charged with handgun possession following a traffic stop on South Pearl Street.

On Monday, December 21st, at around 11:15 p.m., officers stopped Tillman’s vehicle on South Pearl Street in the area of Fourth Avenue for a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

During the stop, officers found Kvar Williams to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun.

Tillman was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 2nd, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Tillman was also cited for Failing to Signal.

He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
