ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — New York State Police will join 14 other law officials in different states to keep the I-95 safe for the holiday season.
The I-95 is one of the busiest highways and it is a major travel route along the East Coast; especially during the Christmas, New Year’s holiday season. Highway fatalities rank as one of the top 12 causes of death in the United States, more than 33,000 deaths occur on our nation’s roadways.
It is also the leading death among teens.
The effort is aimed to crackdown on dangerous driving offenses speeding, impaired driving, and distracted driving, seatbelt and safety restraint use.
This will be taking place through December 26th to the 31st.
