SAUGERTIES, NY (NEWS 10) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for a firefighter that was killed battling a blaze last week.
Saugerties police said 19-year-old Jack H. Rose died at the scene of a chimney fire in Centerville on Saturday.
Calling hours are on Sunday, December 27 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home at 45 John Street.
Shuttles will be provided from the Saugerties High School parking lot. Shuttles will run continuously.
At 10 a.m. on Monday, December 28 the funeral procession will begin at Seamon-Wilsey and procees to the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church for a Noon service. Following the service a funeral procession will travel to St. Mary’s Cemetary in Barclay Heights.
Monday’s funeral procession will require that several routes through both the Village and Town of Saugerties be closed to general traffic. A Static procession along the Route 9W corridor between Glasco Turnpike (PVI Hill) and St. Mary’s Cemetery in Barclay Heights resulting in the closure of State Route 9W between the hours of 12:00pm and 3:00pm. Alternate routes of travel by the public should be utilized during these hours.
