UAlbany basketball game interrupted by fire alarm activation

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Basketball fans had to be evacuated from SEFCU Arena Saturday night during the UAlbany game.

UAlbany police said the alarm activation was due to a discharged chemical fire extinguisher.

The chemicals from the fire extinguisher set off the fire alarm and smoke detectors.

No suspect is in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

For the die hard fans that stayed despite the fire alarm incident, they will get a voucher for two free tickets to see UAlbany take on Niagara December 23rd.
