SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – After a yearlong wait, three upstate casino projects, including Schenectady Rivers Casino will formally receive their licenses from the state gaming commission.
The commission is set to vote on awarding the licenses on Monday in New York City. The projects were endorsed last year. Since then, the state has conducted background checks of developers and reviewed the final details of the projects.
The other two casinos are Montreign Resort in the Catskills and Lago Resort in the Finger Lakes.
Some work has already started, but licenses will allow projects to move forward with construction and financing. The facilities plan to open within two years.
