Code Blue Saratoga kicking off this weekend

SARATOGA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Due to the prediction of wind chill temperatures below 20 degrees Code Blue Saratoga will be open on Saturday, December 19 at 7 p.m.

The location is The Salvation Army building at 27 Woodlawn Ave., Saratoga Springs. Everyone who is homeless and needs a place to stay is welcome to come in at any time between 7 p.m. – 8 a.m.

Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Code Blue is a low demand emergency shelter.

Code Blue Saratoga is an emergency shelter serving homeless people in Saratoga and surrounding area who might otherwise remain unsheltered during periods of extreme winter weather. Code Blue Saratoga protocols will be in place between November 15 and March 15.

Extreme winter weather is defined as 12 inches of snow or more and/or temperature of 20 degrees or less.
