Washington Co. woman accused of stealing over $1,000 in welfare

WASHINGTON Co. (NEWS10) – According to Sheriff Deputies, on Tuesday the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Aprile Warner of Hudson Falls.

Police say Warner was charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and welfare Fraud, also in the fourth.

They say based on the results of an investigation by the Washington County Department of Social Services and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Warner is accused of falsely reporting the number of people residing in her residence, while collecting welfare benefits.

As a result Warner received $1,368.57 in temporary assistance benefits she was not entitled to. She was processed and released on an appearance ticket for a future court date in the Town of Fort Edward Court.
