NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Southwest Airplane went off the runway at the Nashville International Airport after landing Tuesday evening.

Passengers were let off the plane via stairs and buses to the terminal.

According to the FAA, the flight was coming from Houston Hobby Airport.

The plane stopped by the C concourse by Gate 19 near where most of the planes are de-iced. It appears a wheel either collapsed or a tire may have blown.

Deanna Wurth, whose husband Matt was on the plane, told News 2 he said the plane landed hard and seemed to make a loud “thud,” feeling like they hit a hole.

Brian Haas with the Nashville Fire Department told News 2 three people were transported TriStar Summit Medical Center. One was a passenger with a pacemaker and taken as a precaution; the other two injuries aren’t known at this time.

Southwest sent the following statement regarding the incident:

“At approximately 5:30 p.m. local time, Southwest Airlines flight 31 from Houston Hobby Airport to Nashville International Airport exited the taxiway shortly after arriving into Nashville, as the airplane was approaching the gate. The 133 passengers and five Crewmembers were safely transported into the airport, and we are currently working to support their needs. The Safety of our Customers and Employees remains our primary focus.”
