ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – The Times Union Center will be beefing up its security starting this weekend.
The heightened security comes in the wake of the terror attacks in San Bernardino and Paris.
Beginning with the Siena vs. UAlbany game on Saturday, the Times Union Center will use the following security procedures:
- Everyone will be required to go through metal detectors at all entrances.
- Large bags will NOT be allowed through the security zone.
- While cell phones are still allowed, you won’t be able to bring your camera inside.
In a statement, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy said “The goal in heightened security is to provide an environment where people can enjoy the event and not have to worry about safety”.
