Wanted man lead police on chase

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Schenectady police are looking for a wanted man who fled from officers during a short chase.

Just before 12:30 p.m., police spotted 27-year-old Ramel Gentry, who is wanted by the Schenectady Police Department on a felony drug warrant, driving a light blue Chrysler 200. Gentry did not stop when police tried to stop the vehicle, which lead to a chase by multiple police agencies.

Police lost sight of the vehicle near Route 155 and Route 5 in Colonie.

Around 1 p.m., police said the car was spotted in the parking lot of a Hannaford at the corner of Balltown Road and Consaul Road. Camera footage shows someone leaving the car matching a description of the suspect.

Gentry is described as a black male, around 5’9”. He was seen wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweatshirt, and dark colored shoes.

It is unknown if he left the area on the foot or in a vehicle. Police are still looking at camera footage to determine where the suspect went.
