DUANESBURG, NY (NEWS10) – Joseph Duffy pled not guilty to a sixteen-count indictment for causing a head on car crash that killed three people back on September 2nd on Route 30 in Duanesburg.
Police say Duffy was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the accident. He passed two cars but never returned back to his lane thus causing the head on collision.
All three victims Vanessa Cohn, Summer Penny, and Betty Brockum all passed away due to their injuries.
Here are the indictment counts that Duffy pled not guilty to:
Aggravated vehicular manslaughter Class B Felony for each individual victim- Vanessa Cohn, Summer Penny, and Betty Brockhum
Aggravated vehicular manslaughter Class B Felony for all three deaths combined
Manslaughter in the second degree
Driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol a Misdemeanor
Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle a Misdemeanor
Count 11-16 are various traffic infractions due to the manner of the way he was driving
Duffy is also remanded to Schenectady County Jail pending formal bail application.
