Fort Edward man pleads guilty to DWI

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – – A Fort Edward man pleaded guilty to one Count of Driving While Ability Impaired.

On October 5, police said John Sgorrano was driving the wrong way on Interstate 787 in the Village of Menands. Menands police were called to the scene and pulled him over.

While the 47-year-old was standing beside his truck, he took off on foot, but police were able to apprehend him. Police then determined he was operating the vehicle while under the influence of a combination of alcohol and cocaine.

Sgorrano will face up to one and a half  to four years in State Prison. He will also have to pay a $2,000 fine.

He will be sentenced on January 5, 2016.
