Schenectady’s clock tower shines for AIDS awareness

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – During the month of December, Schenectady City Hall’s clock tower will be bathed in red in recognition of AIDS awareness.

Since 1988, December 1 has been recognized as World AIDS Day, an annual campaign in which people worldwide unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS; show their support for people living with it and to commemorate people who have died.

“It is my great pleasure to highlight this important issue by throwing the switch on the floodlights of City Hall tonight,” said Mayor McCarthy.
