100 hypodermic needles found on Waterford playground

WATERFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say an arrest has been made after 100 hypodermic needles were found at a playground on Thanksgiving.

According to authorities, on November 26 at about 3 p.m. officers received a call to Clemente Park on Clifton Street in the Town of Waterford in regards to hypodermic needles on the basketball court.

When they got there, they say they found approximately 100 hypodermic needles on the court. They were carefully picked up and an investigation was commenced.

Through investigation an individual was located who is believed to be responsible.

Officials say 62-year-old Frank Cirillo, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with Littering in a Town Park/Playground and with Criminal Nuisance.

The defendant was arraigned in Waterford Justice Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.
