First woman made NY State Police’s Second in Command

LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – For the first time in New York State history the State Police has a woman as it’s second in command. It is Deputy Superintendent Patricia Groeber.

In her new position she’ll help oversee the entire 4,800 member division. She started as a trooper right in 1986 working at Troop G in Latham after graduating from UAlbany.

Governor Cuomo and Superintendent Joseph D’Amico call her an experienced and proven leader.
