WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — “Ghost Guns” are becoming a growing concern among law enforcement agencies.
They are homemade, lethal weapons that can look and work like any firearm. A ghost gun is not easy to make. but anyone with the skill, money, and access to certain tools, can craft a deadly weapon within a few hours.
Police said Lafayette native Scott Bertics assembled his own guns. And they said he then used those guns to kill 19-year-old Clare Orton and himself back in July in Walnut Creek.
Anyone can order the parts online and none of them is traceable because they are not registered.
