It’s always better to prepared than not.
And after last winter, most of us have learned that. After multiple car pile-ups, some people were stuck in their cars for hours.
One of the worst feelings is being stuck, and cold.
The basic needs to have in your car is food, water, warmth, signaling, and medical. Having these basic needs, it take away the first reaction some might get, panic.
Bob Prince, a Combat Veteran US Army 82nd Airborne Division and owner of Storm Ready in Chicopee, told 22News, “Main thing is you stay calm, you have the gear necessity to be okay you will be found and rescued and you’ll have the gear to sit it out and wait, you’ll be fine.”
Prince also mentioned that the quality in your items really matter. He showed 22News items he thinks are the best to have, which he keeps in an emergency kit. They ranged from signaling lights to weather proof blankets to keep you more than warm.
It’s important to remember seconds count, in an emergency. Below is a list of supplies that may be helpful to you in such situations:

- snacks, power bars
- glow sticks
- air horn
- sleeping bag
