SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS10) – Schenectady Police responded to 1445 The Plaza at Schenectady High School to assist with an assault that occurred.
Jason Arrington was arrested and charged in the incident where the high school principal was injured.
Arrington has been charged with Assault in the second degree which is a Class D Felony and a violation of Harassment in the second degree.
Arrington also had an outstanding arrest warrant for Robbery in the second degree which is a Class C Felony.
Arrington allegedly caused physical injury to the principal. While trying to prevent Arrington from going after another student, Arrington physically fought with the principal causing him to fall into a metal pole.
As a result of the fall, the principal was unconscious and sustained a laceration to area of his right ear. He was treated on the scene by medics of the Schenectady Fire Department and transported Ellis hospital for more treatment.
Arrington was arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Schenectady County Jail.
