ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A pile of rubble is all that’s left of the South Pearl Street building that went up in flames Monday night.
That fire broke out after 8 p.m. when flames engulfed a small convenience store and the otherwise empty building. Crews spent the day tearing it down and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
The conjoining building that houses eight apartments and four storefronts has water and smoke damage while the Red Cross is helping about a dozen folks that were displaced.
This is a lot more than just a pile of rubble to the owner of the convenience store that used to stand. He shares the impact this is having on his eight children and two grandkids.
