National Grid files proposal that could increase electricity bills

MASSACHUSETTS (NEWS10) – National Grid in Massachusetts is making changes that could affect your monthly electricity bill.

The company filed a proposal with the department of utilities to update its electricity distribution rates for the first time since 2009.

In the proposal, the company requests approval to set new distribution rates that would add almost nine dollars to a monthly bill.

If this is passed, then new charges would take effect next October.
