ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a woman is being accused of trying to rob a Stewarts in the town.
Rotterdam Police say 30-year-old Jamie Enos of Schenectady is accused of entering the Stewarts Store located at 1841 Helderberg Avenue on November 1 at 5:15a.m., handing the clerk a handwritten note demanding cash and implying that she had a gun.
The clerk refused to hand over the cash and Enos fled on foot empty handed. There were no injuries and no gun was displayed.
Rotterdam Detectives identified Enos after reviewing surveillance footage of the crime. Detectives also received several calls from the public identifying Enos following the release of the surveillance footage.
Enos was located by Rotterdam Detectives walking on Bridge Street in Schenectady at 8p.m., November 4 and after a brief foot pursuit, was taken into custody.
Police say Enos is charged with Attempted Robbery 1st degree, a class C felony.
She was arraigned and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of 50,000 cash or 100,000 secured bond.
The Schenectady and Colonie Police Departments also assisted in the case.
