ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) – Gov. Andrew Cuomo and many other state leaders are in Puerto Rico for an annual conference focused on the issues facing New York’s Latino communities.
The Democratic governor plans to return home Thursday evening following a two-day visit to the island. The Somos El Futuro conference got underway on Wednesday in San Juan and will end on Sunday.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is also planning to travel to Puerto Rico on Thursday and will return the same day.
Cuomo visited the U.S. territory in September to offer New York’s help in resolving a fiscal crisis.
