OSWEGO, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A new mayor in central New York is getting a lot of attention for his age.
25-year-old Billy Barlow will be the youngest person to ever hold office in the City of Oswego. Barlow is coming off two years on the Oswego council. He already has some long term goals he would like to accomplish as mayor. One of those is marketing the port city to people outside of the area, hoping to attract them to the city.
“The fact is, we’re a beautiful community, we have great natural assets but you don’t know that until you’re here. My argument is the mayor essentially the executive, needs to go out just as an executive of a company would,” said Billy Barlow, Oswego mayor-elect.
Barlow says he’ll start assembling his transition team next week.
