Mets, Royals Game 4 scoring updates

NEW YORK, NY (NEWS10) – Michael Conforto takes Chris Young deep with a solo home run to right field for the first run of the game.

Curtis Granderson knocks in a run of his own on a sac fly.

It’s 2-0 Mets in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

After Alex Gordan gets the Royals on the board with an RBI single to make the score 2-1 Michael Conforto hits his second solo home run of the game to give the Mets a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 5th.

Lorenzo Cain singles scoring is Ben Zobrist to cut the Mets lead to 3-2 in the top of the 6th. Jonathon Niese is now in for Steven Matz.

After an error by second baseman Daniel Murphy allowed Ben Zobrist to score and tie the game at 3-3, Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez both followed up with RBI singles to give the Royals a 5-3 lead in the top of the 8th inning.
