Schenectady Police Chief says goodbye to the City

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – It’s the last day of work for Schenectady Police Chief Brian Kilcullen. He’s moving on to work in Vermont, but before he left, he was given the City’s highest honor.

Mayor Gary McCarthy presented Chief Kilcullen with the ‘patroon award,’ which is given to just one person a year. It’s an award that recognizes a lifetime of service to the City.

Kilcullen says he’s humbled to be chosen and says any success he’s had comes with a lot of help from others.

Brian Kilcullen retires from Schenectady PD Friday and starts his new job as Chief of Police in Rutland Vermont on Monday.
