GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A local couple has turned their backyard into a haunted graveyard for a good cause.
Jim Archer and his fiancée Heidi Schenk have turned their backyard into a graveyard of horrors. Archer starts production in August, and he has accumulated a collection over the years.
“After about 14 years, we’ve got about $10,000 worth of props in our yard,” he said. “But this kind of scary does some good.”
Entry is completely free. The couple only asks for one thing – a donation to AIM services.
AIM is a non-profit in Wilton that serves people with disabilities.
“And they’re so grateful,” Archer said. “They put us in their flier, and when they come, everybody hugs us and the clients come through hugging you.”
Walking around the Haunted Graveyard, you can spot the characters from the Exorcist and Psycho. But which movie inspired the couple to being spooky in Glens Falls?
“Chainsaw Massacre,” Archer said.
If you missed your chance Friday night, the Haunted Graveyard is open on Halloween.
It’s located at 115 Bay St. in Glens Falls. It will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
