Victim identified in fatal Hoosick Falls crash

HOOSICK FALLS, NY (NEWS10) – 22-year-old Kyle Redden has been identified as the victim in the fatal auto-pedestrian accident that happened on River Road Saturday night.

Police were called to the scene at 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Smith and Mechanic Street.

Upon arrival, they found Redden, who had been struck by a vehicle. He was transported to Southwestern Vermont Hospital where he passed away.

The driver was 55-year-old Daniel Harris of 1 Smith Street in Hoosick Falls.

Harris was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. over 0.18, leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident, criminally negligent homicide, vehicle manslaughter in the 1st degree and manslaughter in the 2nd degree.

Harris was arraigned in village court and remanded to Rensselaer County jail with no bail.
