ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Local leaders in the Muslim and Syrian communities gathered Sunday to discuss the Syrian refugee crisis.
The forum focused on the humanitarian impact of the crisis and how people and the government can lend a helping hand.
Policy makers, non-profit groups and and even some refugees were all in attendance to give an update on the Syrian refugee crisis.
The group also discussed solutions to this problem.
“A lot of people have expressed interest in helping the refugees and of course we want to propagate that into real world solutions and outcomes,” said attendee Omar Alrifai.
Organizers hoped the event would bring awareness to the ongoing struggle for Syrian refugees.
