ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – The 44th annual festival of nations kicked off Sunday at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
This annual event brings the community together to celebrate diversity in the capital region.
Twenty-four countries were represented this year and it all started with a parade of nations.
NEWSABC’s own Trishna Begam was the emcee for the event. For more than forty-years the event has been giving adults and kids a glimpse around the world without ever having to leave Albany.
This is done through on stage performances and of course all the great food from around the globe.
“You will see diversity in capital district so important that children can appreciate other cultures other tradition by seeing things”, said chairman of the festival of nations Manoj Ajmera.
Each year a miss festival of nations is crowned and last year it was Korea. This year the title went to Ms. Taiwan.
