MIAMI, FL (NEWS10) — The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Patricia has weakened to barely a Category 4 storm, with sustained winds of 130 mph.

There are reports of some flooding and landslides but no word of fatalities or major damage.

The storm made landfall last night on Mexico’s pacific coast as a monstrous Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph.

It’s rapidly losing steam as it moves over a mountainous region just inland from the shore.

Mexico’s transportation secretary says officials were bracing for the worst and are “not declaring victory” just yet.
