ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Albany Law School is hosting its 21st annual Senior Citizens’ Law Day, providing free legal services to the Capital Region’s senior citizens and their caregivers.
This event will kick off on Saturday, October 24 at 80 New Scotland Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Speakers and volunteers will address the justice gap, a phenomenon where citizens don’t have access to legal services.
These individuals can’t afford a private lawyer, but aren’t poor enough to qualify for free legal services.
Professors, attorneys and other experts will conduct workshops on health care decision-making, scam protection measures, estate planning, Medicare and Medicaid, wills vs. trusts and charitable giving.
No registration is required for workshops, and attendees will receive a free resource guidebook.
