Man accused of stealing gifts from L.G. wedding

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a man has been accused of stealing wedding cards that contained checks early this month.

Officials say on October 6 the Warren County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into personal checks stolen from a wedding at the Inn at Erlowest in Lake George. The victims realized that they were missing wedding cards and soon discovered that two checks from two of the cards were cashed in Lake George.

After an investigation it was determined that 34-year-old Jason Pigliavento was responsible for the stolen checks being deposited into a bank account and cashed. Pigliavento was located and arrested on October 19 for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second Degree.

Police say Pigliavento was arraigned and sent to the Warren County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bail bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Lake George court for his next hearing on a later date.
