Police: Gloversville janitor attacked while walking dog

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police responded to a call at the Boulevard Elementary School for a report of two males breaking and entering.

Police say the men yelled obscenities to the female janitor on duty and refused to leave.

According to authorities, the two men jumped and viciously attacked a woman walking her dog.

Upon investigation, the officers learned that the woman was attacked from behind and struck her in the face.

The victim described her attackers as one wearing a red hoody and the other wearing a black hoody.

The suspects were located at 44 Fourth Avenue.

Police arrested 19-year-old Charles McCarthy for Disorderly Conduct, a violation.

Steven Pierce, 16, was also arrested at the scene of the investigation.

Both men were charged with attempted assault in the second degree, a felony, conspiracy in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, attempted assault in the third degree, a felony, and conspiracy in the sixth degree, a misdemeanor.

Both were arraigned and remanded to Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail and $50,000 bond.
