ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Capital Region will say one last final goodbye to an iconic local news man on Friday.
The wake and memorial service for former WRGB and WTEN anchor Ed O’Brien will happen Friday morning. O’brien passed away Tuesday morning after a battle with cancer. He was 59-years-old.
He spent most of his life bringing sports and news coverage to the Capital Region, including time as the sports director here at WTEN, and then he served as morning anchor for CBS 6 until he became ill.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “Old Friends at Cabin Creek” which is a farm for retired thoroughbreds in Greenfield Center.
