ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The University of Albany will be offering a free screening of the Japanese horror film “House” on Friday, October 30.
“House” is story of seven Japanese schoolgirls and a demonically-possessed house that tries to eat them. The film has been described as a cult and critical favorite, as well as one of the wackiest horror movies ever made.
Nobuhiko Ôbayashi’s 1977 film has a run-time of 88 minutes. The film will be screened in Page Hall at 135 Western Avenue on UAlbany’s downtown campus.
Manohla Dargis of the New York Times described the film as, “Delirious, deranged, gonzo or just gone, baby, gone….The yelps you’ll hear, and possibly emit…will be of surprise and delight, not terror.”
