ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Put on your walking shoes, grab your cell phones and head to downtown Albany.
Mayor Kathy Sheehan is unveiling a new Walk [Your City] campaign today at City Hall.
On Monday, signs affiliated with the campaign were put up along Washington Avenue.
They say things like, “It’s a 17 minute walk to a sushi, pho and salsa on the avenue.”
You scan the QR code on the signs to get a map and more information about the posted location.
Today at 2 p.m., Mayor Kathy Sheehan is gathering the volunteers who put up the signs. From there, they’ll walk to Wellington Row continue posting signs for the campaign.
Officials says this is an effort to get people out and walking, as well as encourage people to learn what Albany had to offer.
