Police seek subjects involved in fatal Hudson stabbing

HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a man was found bleeding profusely from his neck on Sunday night in an apartment in the city.

Officials say on Sunday, October 11at about 11 p.m. the City of Hudson Police Department received a call via Columbia County 911 from a female who stated a man had been stabbed at 10 Frederick Street.

The caller said the victim was stabbed in his neck. Officers arrived to the ground level apartment and found 27-year-old Cory Velasquez, aka “Skrilla”, unresponsive.nt knife wound to the neck. He was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital by the Greenport Rescue Squad. He later died at the hospital. He was a Hudson resident, having lived in several addresses throughout the city.

Police immediately called in resources – New York State Police, Columbia County Sheriff, and the Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka who arrived at the scene.

One witness described two subjects who are of interest in this matter.

  • A black male – 6ft tall, stocky build with braided hair. Wearing a white shirt and dark blue sweatpants
  • A light-skinned black female, approximately 5’7”
  • Both subjects left the area of Frederick Street in a black, late model sedan

At this hour this combined police force is conducting numerous investigative tasks. They have developed many leads and have been pursuing them throughout the night.

“All information at hand indicates that the victim knew his assailant. I do not believe this was a random act that would heighten our concern for general public safety. We are using every resource available to identify who did this,” said Chief Moore.
