TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Monday marks the beginning of NEWS10ABC’s annual drive to collect coats for kids in need in the Capital Region.
We’re asking for your help in collecting gently used coats that will be used to keep kids and teens warm this winter, since its already that time of year.
If you’re clearing out the old or new winter coats out of the back of your closet or storage, you’re urged to donate. We’re looking for children’s sizes, because this is ‘Coats for Kids’ and last year, they said the donations were slightly down. This year they’re dedicated to net those numbers up.
NEWS10ABC got a head start on this campaign by donating some coats ourselves.
MVP Health Care also stopped by early Monday morning to donate some new ones. They’re going to be matching 500 new coats.
They are specifically looking for children’s coats, but will accept all sizes. They are also taking hats and gloves.
