SARATOGA, NY (NEWS10) – Just after 4 A.M. Saturday morning, police officers responded to Lake Avenue by Circular Street for a stabbing victim that was located there.
The victim was identified as a 22-year-old male from Schenectady and he was stabbed about six or seven times in his back, thus puncturing both of his lungs.
The victim was immediately transported to Albany Med by General Schuyler Ambulance. His current condition is unknown.
An investigation into the incident was started and it is strongly believed that this was not a random act, but that the victim knew the assailant and that this assault stems from previous problems between the two while living in Schenectady.
The investigation shows that the attack took place on the street in the downtown area shortly before the call, but the investigation has been hindered by a lack of cooperation by both the victim and witnesses.
Anyone with information on this case is asked contact the Saratoga Springs PD at 584-1800 or leave a message on the TIPS line 584-8477 for Lieutenant Bob Jillson Investigations Lieutenant.
