ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – 26-year-old Demonte Miller of troy was sentenced to fourteen years determinate in state prison, to be followed by five years of post-release supervision, and he also must pay restitution of three-thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven dollars.
On August 19th, 2015, Miller pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in the first degree, which is a Class C felony.
On September 28th, 2014, Miller conspired with a co-defendant to rob a Dunkin Donuts employee at gunpoint of the store’s daily bank deposit.
The employee was driving to the bank to drop off the daily deposit and was stopped at a stoplight. Miller proceeded to point a pistol at the employee through his open driver’s window and demanded that he give him the bank deposit bag.
Assistant DA Linda Griggs of the Major Offense Unit prosecuted this case.
