ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Motorists are advised that all westbound lanes have reopened on I-90 between Exits 6A and 6. The lanes were closed this morning due to an emergency repair on a bridge joint over Broadway in the City of Albany, approximately 500 feet west of the Patroon Island Bridge.
Motorists are advised two of three lanes of eastbound I-90 are now closed at the same location — between Exits 6 and 6A — as the New York State Department of Transportation under takes a proactive repair to the bridge joint in that direction. This repair is expected to last several hours, and is expected to be completed before the evening rush hour.
All ramps from I-90 to I-787 in both directions at this location remain open.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
