ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A new program in the South End, that is set to tackle food insecurity and hunger, got some help Tuesday from some guys sure to make it a knock out.
WWE superstars Titus O’Neill and Darren Young made an appearance at the South End Children Café’s get to know us reception.
The new program, set to open November 2 at 33 Rensselaer Street, will offer free, healthy dinners Monday through Friday to local kids and their families.
It’s a mission that is not unfamiliar to Titus.
“Titus has recently been in the news for feeding people who are homeless in restaurants,” Tracie Killar, Director of the South End Café told News 10. “So the connection for us is really there.”
Organizers with the program say almost half of the households in Albany’s South End with children under the age of 18, live at or below the federal poverty level.
